Tesla vehicles are known for their cutting-edge technology and comfort features, including adjustable headrests for added driver and passenger comfort.
Properly adjusting the headrest in your Tesla is essential to ensure a comfortable and safe driving experience.
In this comprehensive guide, we’ll walk you through the steps to adjust the headrest in your Tesla, taking into consideration different Tesla models and variations.
Tesla Model S Headrest Adjustment
Adjusting the driver seat headrest in your Model S is pretty easy. Here is how you do it-
- Find the lumber support button on the left side of your seat and press it. It’s the little circular button.
- You will see a seat appearing on your Tesla touchscreen.
- Tap on the head support section of that seat image.
- Now, you can use that circular button to adjust your Model S front seat headrest.
If you want to adjust the rear seat of the Tesla Model S, here is how you do that-
- Simply lift the head support upward if you want the headrest to go up.
- In case you want to move the headrest downward, press and hold the button on the base of the headrest and move it downward.
- Release the button when you are done.
Tesla Headrest Adjustment: Model Y
Tesla Model Y front seats do not have any sort of headrest adjustment in place. However, the back seats are equipped with a bit of adjustment facility.
The head support of the center back seat of your Tesla Model Y goes all the way up or down by simple push. If you want it to go up, simply push it upward. And to get it down, push the headrest down. No button or clips involved in this.
On the other hand, two side back seats of Model Y have different kind of adjustment mechanism. Here is how you can adjust those-
- Push the headrest upward to extend them upward.
- If you want them to go down, press the button on the base of the head support and simultaneously push the headrest downward.
You might find that the flexibility it provides is pretty limited. If you are too tall, you might need to use DIY techniques like this-
Tesla Model 3 Headrest Adjustment
Except for the center backseat, no Tesla Model 3 seats support headrest adjustment.
It is a shame considering how little it requires to make these head supports adjustable and yet, Tesla chose not to give that.
However, you can buy external headrests, some of which are adjustable as well to add to your Model 3 so that you can have a comfortable ride home.
Another way around to adjust the head support on your Model 3 is to follow this-
How to Adjust Tesla Model X Headrest?
The Model X on the Tesla lineup has the most sophisticated adjustment system in its seats. Having said that, it also doesn’t provide you with adequate adjustment facility with its seats.
You can only adjust your Tesla Model X front seat head support-
- Press the circular lumber support button on left side of the seat.
- You should see a pop-up open on the touchscreen. Select Headrest there.
- Now, you can move the head support up or down using the same button.
